After I get all the players' cards sorted by (first letter of the) last name, the next step for a stack of a popular letter is to sort all the B's for example by the second letter of the name - using the same A-G, H-O, and P-Z pattern/grid, which, after much repetition over the years, I can do very fast without looking.
